I am a UK based photographer living in the county of Kent, also known as 'The Garden of England.' Surrounded by ancient woodland, stunning countryside and the very varied North Kent Coastline, there is little need for me to stray far from home. The Cathedral City of Canterbury also provides endless photographic opportunities and local historic towns and villages are little gems full of period character.

Although I have a passion for Nature, Countryside and Coastal photography, I am just as happy pushing the boundaries and trying something out of my comfort zone. I have helped cover sports and charity events for their fundraising and publicity in local papers and Family weddings and other special occasions have also helped to extend my photography skills.

Having taken part in several workshops and tours in the UK and further afield, I have been able to develop my skills whilst enjoying the company and learning from other like-minded folk, many of whom have become great friends. I have traveled to some stunning locations with friends and family too but I have learned that it isn't essential to spend a great deal of money or travel for miles to capture a great image. Some of my most successful images have been taken from the comfort of my own home!

I have received a number of photography awards at Club and County level and many of my images have been accepted at County, National and International exhibitions. I have also gained the distinction of Licentiate of Royal Photographic Society. These personal achievements have given me the confidence  to share my knowledge and photography skills with others who are wanting to improve or learn the basics and need a friendly guiding hand. I am always learning and I think that's how it should be.

Being a practical person, I have learned best by hands on experience. The biggest challenge for me was getting to grips with Manual camera settings rather than relying on Auto mode. It was exciting to see for myself the way in which taking control of my camera meant I could create whatever mood I wanted to evoke in an image. Watching and learning from others in a practical situation, rather than getting bogged down reading endless blurb about numbers, measurements and terminology is far less daunting.

So.... if my style of teaching appeals to you I am sure I can help you in the same way that I have helped others to progress their photographic journey and I look forward to hearing from you.
